Missing my buddy…

It’s been hard coming up with this post, even though it’s been 2 weeks since Monte left home.
He had been suffering from a leaking heart valve (we actually think this is more of a broken heart going back 2 1/2 years to when Kona his best buddy left us, something he never got over)which in turn made it harder for him to breath, so his body over compensated by growing his heart and his lungs. This caused more problems, a hacking cough due to blood/liquid leaking into his lungs, and generally his body was quitting on him…we did what we could, tried different drug programs, but we all know what the end result will be…that horrible time when we have to decide if he is in pain.
The problem with Monte is he doesn’t show pain…he luvved to play and would go running to find a ball with just a little lock of his eyes to yours. Then he wanted to play catch, even though he was coughing and moving slower than he used to. Denying him this pleasure of that was the worst.
So he is back playing with his buddy Kona…and we won’t forget him.
